Thats a good thing, because theres next to nothing going in terms of new sales. The New Years Sale is winding down, however, and weve got a giant list of outgoing sales that you really should check out before its too late. This game was originally released on home computers a few years back to critical acclaim and a whole lot of praise, and it only takes a few minutes of playing with it to see why. Its an incredibly charming rhythm game with a fun story and an excellent mode where you can compose your own pieces. ![]() This Encore version adds a new stage and some new unlockables on top of the already solid base. Just keep in mind that this is more of a long-term rental than a purchase as wed normally consider it. ![]() Each stage presents you with a picture, and you need to interact with objects to somehow create a well-known English idiom. So for example, a guy who wants to impress a girl ultimately needs you to put the girl in front of a high-powered fan, which sends her flying out of the frame. I really like this game, and if you enjoy a bit of language foolishness I think you will too. I picked it up back when it first hit the Switch here and have played it quite a bit already as a result. This comes from developer Terarin, who makes some really high-quality indie shoot-em-ups. Its a vertical shooter where you need to avoid enemy missiles and lock on to the baddies to return fire with your own. Defeated enemies will drop items that increase the range of your lock-on capability, allowing you to take out more in one go. Theres a standard arcade mode where you battle your way through the stages, and a three-minute score attack Caravan mode. You can even have a second player join in via local multiplayer for more missiles and more fun. Its mainly an adventure game, but it diverges from that kind of gameplay often and significantly enough that I dont know that Id want to call it that.
